LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan's home volleyball and American Rivers Conference debut was not a happy one as Buena Vista University came into Snyder Arena and swept the Prairie Wolves 3-0 on Thursday night (Sept. 13). BVU won in scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-20.
With the victory, the Beavers extend their winning streak to seven straight despite having only nine players on their entire roster. NWU falls to 3-6 overall and 0-1 in American Rivers Conference play.
Errors were the story of the match for NWU as they had 43 total errors accounting for well over half of the Beavers points. The Prairie Wolves had a negative hitting percentage in each of the first two sets and ended the match hitting .008 with 26 kills and 25 errors.
11 service aces were costly, especially in set three when NWU committed six. NWU held an 11-9 lead early in the third set and remained tied at 16-16 but then BVU slowly pulled away.
Sidney McLaren led BVU posting a double-double of 11 kills and 12 digs. As a team the Beavers had 31 total kills and hit .139.

Kierra Harder who had eight kills.
Cassidy Plooster dished out 23 assists with eight digs.
Lizzie Saale had a match high 21 digs.
Nebraska Wesleyan is off until next weekend then they take part in the Cornell College Classic.
