Prairie Wolves Take Care of Business at College of Saint Mary

OMAHA, Neb. – The Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball team traveled up I-80 to Omaha on Wednesday night (Dec. 19) and took care of business as the Prairie Wolves extended their winning streak to five games with a 74-54 victory at College of Saint Mary in the Lied Fitness Center.

NWU improved to 6-3 on the season with their fifth straight win, while former GPAC foe College of Saint Mary dropped to 2-14 on the year.

Two days after scoring a career-high 35 points, junior guard Caitlin Navratil posted another big offensive performance on Wednesday.  Navratil was 12-16 from the field to score a game-high 29 points.  She went 5-6 from 3-point range and had six steals on the night.

Besides Navratil, the Prairie Wolves weren't able to generate much offense as her teammates shot 30 percent from the field (15-50).  Carsyn Zumpfe was the other NWU player to score in double figures as she came off the bench to score 10 points on 4-8 shooting.

The Prairie Wolves led 21-14 after one quarter as they hit five 3-pointers in the opening ten minutes.  NWU extended the lead by one point in the second quarter to hold a 34-26 advantage at the break.

College of Saint Mary shot only 26.7 percent as a team for the game making 16-60 overall.  They were 2-19 from 3-point range and struggled mightily against the Prairie Wolves full court press.  NWU forced the Flames into 37 turnovers.
