Women Win 4-1 at Central Earning First Conference Victory

PELLA, Iowa – Nebraska Wesleyan scored a conference season high four goals as the Prairie Wolves went on the road and earned their first American Rivers Conference victory of the year with a 4-1 win over Central College in women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 13).
 
With the much needed victory, the NWU women get back to .500 overall at 7-7 and move to 1-5 in American Rivers action. Central drops to 9-4-1 and 3-2.
 
Kaitilyn Sullivan was the offensive star for the Prairie Wolves scoring two goals and assisting on another in the victory.
 
NWU scored the first goal of the match in the 8th minute as Olivia Munroe scored her fourth goal of the year off an assist from Sullivan.  Then it was Sullivan's turn to score as she found the open net three minutes later giving NWU a 2-0 lead.
 
Right after halftime Sullivan struck again in the 46th minute off an assist from Annie Platt.  NWU made the score 4-0 in the 55th minute when Suzie McDonald scored her fourth goal of the year.
 
Central scored their only goal of the match in the 68th minute as Cate Christopherson found the open net.  The Dutch finished the match with 19 total shots, including 10 shots on goal.  NWU was credited with only nine total shots.
 
Cambria Collins recorded the victory in goal for NWU as she had nine total saves. 
 
The Prairie Wolves will next host University of Dubuque on Wednesday night in the final home match of the year.
