Three-Match Stretch Ends With 4-1 Loss at St. Olaf

NORTHFIELD, MInn. – The Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team closed out their opening weekend with a 4-1 loss at St. Olaf College on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 3) in Northfield, Minnesota.  It was the third match in three days for the Prairie Wolves as they start the 2017 season with an  0-3 record.

St. Olaf got the scoring started very early in the match as Kaylyn Billmeyer scored in the third minute on a direct free kick for a 1-0 advantage.  They added another goal in the first half as Sarah Fisco scored putting St. Olaf ahead 2-0 before halftime.

Nebraska Wesleyan got on the board with a goal right before halftime.  Raissa Souza scored her first goal of the season on an assist from Gracie Ring.  That made the score 2-1 headed into halftime.

St. Olaf wasted little time getting on the board coming out of the locker room at halftime as they scored just over a minute into the half.  They capped their scoring in the 75th minute as Emily Lecy scored a goal off a rebound.

NWU finished with eight total shots, including five shots on goal.  St. Olaf recorded 21 shots in the match with 12 of those shots being on goal.

The Prairie Wolves will go for their first win of the season on Wednesday when they have their home debut at Abel Stadium hosting York College.
