Wolves Shutout Waldorf in Women's Soccer

LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan scored two first half goals and posted their third shutout of the season as the Prairie Wolves got back on the winning track with a 2-0 victory over Waldorf on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 24) in non conference women's soccer action at Abel Stadium.
 
The Prairie Wolves improve to 3-5-1 overall with all three victories coming by way of shutouts.  NWU is also undefeated on the season when scoring more than one goal in a match.  Waldorf falls to 1-11 overall.
 
Savannah Howard got the scoring started for Nebraska Wesleyan with a goal in the 10th minute.  Howard attempted a shot, then tried again off the rebound and put it in the back of the net.  Her goal came off an assist from Annie Platt.
 
The second goal of the match came from senior Natalie Graves who got her third goal of the season on a breakaway.  Graves goal off an assist from Bella Carnazzo came at the 19:48 mark of the first half.
 
Neither team was able to score in the second half, despite 10 total shots and six shots on goal from the Prairie Wolves.
 
Waldorf had only one shot attempt the entire match, coming on a free kick in the second half that sailed just over the goal.
 
Jennica Johnson was credited with the shutout in goal.
