NORTHFIELD, Minn. – A goal in the fifth minute was all that Carleton College would need as they shutout the Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team 1-0 on Saturday afternoon in a NCAA III contest in Northfield, Minnesota.
NWU falls to 0-2 on the season and will complete their three-game road trip on Sunday at St. Olaf College.
Nora Mertz found the back of the net at the 5:57 mark for Carleton and that would be the only goal of the entire match.
For the second straight match, the Prairie Wolves struggled to get things going on offense. NWU attempted just five total shots, compared to 17 for Carleton.
Jennica Johnson did record five saves in goal for the Prairie Wolves.
