WINONA, Minn. – Nebraska Wesleyan picked up their first victory of the season in impressive fashion on Saturday morning as the Prairie Wolves women's soccer team shutout Martin Luther College, 3-0, at the Big Athletics/Adidas Tournament.
The Prairie Wolves (1-3-1) now advance to the championship match where they will face the winner of Saint Mary's and Finlandia.
It was an overall dominating performance for the Prairie Wolves as they rolled to victory outshooting Martin Luther 20-2.
Kaitlyn Sullivan got the Prairie Wolves on the board first with a goal in the 21
st minute off an assist from
Shannon Jerram.
Right before halftime, NWU got the second goal of the match as
Raissa Souza scored in the 39
th minute. Her goal was assisted by
Syd Nelson and
Suzie McDonald. The score would be 2-0 at halftime.
In the second half, the Prairie Wolves added the final goal of the match with
Shannon Jerram scoring off an assist from Souza and
Natalie Graves. The three goals were the most scored in a match all season.
Martin Luther falls to 0-1-1 overall with their loss.
