LINCOLN, Neb. – Jamestown College ruined the home opener for the Nebraska Wesleyan baseball team on Saturday afternoon as the Jimmies defeated the Prairie Wolves 10-0 at NWU Field in Lincoln.
NWU stayed close early with the score just 2-0 heading into the 7
th inning, but Jamestown scored three runs in the 7
th and then five in the 8
th to end the game after eight innings.
The Prairie Wolves had only two hits in the game and were retired in order all eight innings.
Jamestown finished with 13 total hits and also took advantage of three NWU errors. They scored the first run of the game in the top of the 1
st on a single to score an unearned run. The Jimmies got the second run of the game in the 3
rd inning.

Brody Murphy had a strong outing batting hard in six innings of work. He allowed three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts. Murphy had his streak of scoreless innings snapped in the loss.
Jamestown starter Brad Bennet was very impressive getting the complete game shutout victory. He allowed just two hits while facing the minimum. Bennet struck out 11 and walked none.
NWU is back in action Sunday as they play games against Jamestown and Concordia starting at Noon.
