CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa –
Jake Kennedy scored the game-winning goal with less than four minutes remaining to give the Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer team a crucial road conference victory over Coe College on a cool and wet Tuesday night (Oct. 10) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Prairie Wolves and Kohawks battled hard in a very hard fought IIAC men's soccer match that saw neither team flinch to allow their opponents to get on the scoreboard.

Jake Kennedy scoring the game-winning goal off a header straight into the back of the net. It was the ninth goal of the season for Kennedy who now ranks third in the conference in goals scored.
Nebraska Wesleyan outshot Coe College, 20-5, in the match including eight shots on goal for the Prairie Wolves. Two different Kohawk goalkeepers recorded seven saves, but they couldn't hold up for the entire 90 minutes as the Prairie Wolves constant attack was rewarded in the final five minutes.
Coe only had one shot on goal which was saved by NWU goalkeeper
Jack Nespor. As a unit, the Prairie Wolves posted their third shutout of the season.
With the victory, NWU moves into third place in the IIAC standings with nine points and a 3-2 mark in conference play with three matches remaining. The Prairie Wolves are now 8-5-1 overall. Coe remains winless in IIAC action falling to 0-4 and 3-9 overall.
Nebraska Wesleyan returns home on Saturday to face Central College at Abel Stadium.
