Penalty Kicks Lift NWU Past Mount Marty

Box Score LINCOLN -- A pair of penalty kick goals gave the Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer team a 2-0 shutout victory over Mount Marty College on Saturday night at Abel Stadium.

Will Weber and Alex Day each converted a penalty kick in the match for the only two goals of the match.

With the victory, the Prairie Wolves remain undefeated on the season as they are 2-0-1 to start the 2016 season.

NWU dominated the match on the offensive end of the field but could not find the open net.  The Prairie Wolves had 24 shot attempts on the night, compared to just five for Mount Marty.

Mount Marty battled hard and held their own not allowing the Prairie Wolves to score a goal besides the penalty kicks.  The Lancers fall to 0-4 on the 2016 season.

Nebraska Wesleyan will have little time to celebrate the win as they are right back in action on Sunday afternoon facing Cardinal Stritch University at 1 pm at Abel Stadium.
