CRETE, Neb. – Doane College pounded out 13 hits and took advantage of six Nebraska Wesleyan errors as the Tigers defeated the Prairie Wolves 15-0 in the first game of the GPAC Postseason Softball Tournament on Wednesday (May 4) at Ledon Field in Crete, Neb.

NWU will now face Dordt College at 4 pm in an elimination game.Â

Doane led 2-0 as they got three hits in the first inning. The big inning came in the bottom of the 3
rd as the Tigers piled up five runs. After a pair of NWU errors, Makaela Moore blasted a 3-run home run over the centerfield fence to give the Tigers a 7-0 lead.

The Tigers kept the hits coming in the 4
th inning. Nicole Fernandez blasted a grand slam to put the game past the run rule to end in five innings.

Meanwhile, Ellie Doughty threw a one-hitter for the Tigers on the mound. The lone Nebraska Wesleyan hit came by
Hunter Bailey in the 3
rd inning. That was the only threat for NWU as they had runners on second and third with one out, but the runners were stranded.
The 15-0 loss for NWU was their worst loss since 2010 when they had a 16-0 loss to Lubbock Christian.
