Cold Shooting for NWU Women in 77-54 Loss

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska Wesleyan struggled to shoot the basketball on Saturday afternoon at Snyder Arena as the Prairie Wolves fell 77-54 to Northwestern College in GPAC women's basketball action.

The Prairie Wolves (4-14, 3-13 GPAC) hit only 25.3 percent from the field and 20.0 from 3-point land.  They were 52.6 at the free throw line.

Northwestern extends their winning streak over the Prairie Wolves to 22 games as they have won every matchup since 2000.

The Red Raiders were not much better shooting in the game as they hit 39.4 percent and were 33.3 from 3-point land.  Northwestern also committed 23 turnovers, but they still were more efficient than the NWU offense.

Nebraska Wesleyan attempted 75 total shots in the game, making only 19.  They were 6-30 from 3-point land as nobody could get hot from deep.

The Red Raiders built up a 43-27 lead at halftime and extended it by 10 points after three quarters.  NWU did outscore Northwestern by three in the 4th quarter.

Courtney Cook led NWU with 14 points and 11 rebounds as she recorded a double-double.  Felicia TeKolste also scored 14 points with nine rebounds to just miss a double-double of her own.

Kassidy DeJonge had a huge game for Northwestern with 28 points and 17 rebounds.  She also had four steals in the victory.
