FREMONT, Neb. --
Georgia Straka scored the game-winning goal with less than two minutes remaining in the match as Nebraska Wesleyan picked up a 1-0 victory at Midland University in GPAC women's soccer action on Monday.
NWU gets their first GPAC win of the season and evens their record at 4-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Midland drops to 5-3-1 and 1-1 in league play.
Neither team was able to capitalize on scoring attempts throughout the contest. Both goalkeepers were solid as NWU's
Madi Francis had seven saves and Jordan Thiem of Midland had nine saves.
NWU finished the match with 15 total shots as Midland had 16.
With time winding down, Straka broke the scoreless tie in the 88th minute as she found the open net.
