Box Score LINCOLN, Neb. -- 20th-ranked Hastings College dominated at the net with 21 total blocks as the Broncos defeated the Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball team 3-1 in the home opener for the Prairie Wolves on Saturday night.

NWU, which played their first nine matches on the road, falls to 4-6 overall and 0-2 in GPAC play.  Hastings improves to 10-6, 1-2 GPAC.

The Broncos controlled the match with their play at the net.  They won in scores of 25-12, 23-25, 25-14, 25-17.  NWU was held to a -.042 hitting percentage with 36 attack errors on the night.

In the first set with the score at 10-9, the Broncos would reel off 12 straight points to go ahead 22-9 and run away with set one.  NWU hit -.333 in the first set with 14 errors.

Set two was much different as NWU regained their composure and put the pressure on the Broncos.  The two teams traded points and were tied at 23-23.  A service error by the Broncos made the score 24-23.  Kennedy Hegert finished the set with an ace for the 25-23.

Hastings won the next two sets as NWU had 18 attacking errors.

The Broncos finished with 48 kills, led by Sage Meyer who had  a double-double of 14 kills and 10 digs.  Logan Drueppel had seven kills and 11 blocks.

NWU was led by Malory Dahl with eight kills, while Kennedy Hegert had 20 digs.
