LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Nebraska Wesleyan football team will finally make their 2015 home debut this Saturday as they host Briar Cliff University in a GPAC football clash at Abel Stadium. Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Chargers is set for 1 pm.
Saturday's game is also part of the NWU Homecoming festivities on the Nebraska Wesleyan campus. The Prairie Wolves have won three straight homecoming games, including last season's thrilling overtime win over Concordia.
Nebraska Wesleyan is 1-1 early on the season with a victory over then #21 Friends and a loss to national power Morningside College. Briar Cliff is playing their fourth game of the year and brings a 1-2 overall record into the game. Both teams are aiming to get their first conference win of the season.
The Prairie Wolves are 11-1 all-time against Briar Cliff and have won the last five meeting by an average of more than 22 points. One year ago, NWU bounced back from a disappointing loss to Morningside with a big 38-28 win over the Chargers for their first win of the year at the Dakota Dome.
Saturday's game can be viewed live via webcast through the NWU Sports Network or heard live on KFOR 1240 AM/103.3 FM.
