Prairie Wolves Travel to Friends in Inaugural GPAC-KCAC Challenge

Nebraska Wesleyan will kick off their 2015 football season this Saturday (Sept. 5) when they travel to Wichita, Kan., to face Friends University.  Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Falcons is set for 6:00 pm at Austin Stadium.

This game is part of the inaugural Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) versus Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) challenge that matches nine teams from the GPAC facing nine teams from the KCAC in 2015-16.

NWU is coming off a 2014 season where they finished 4-6 overall and sixth in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.  The Prairie Wolves return six starters on offense and five on defense from that 2014 team.  NWU was picked to finish 7th in the GPAC Coaches' Preseason Poll that was released in early August.

Friends University, ranked 21st in the NAIA Preseason Top 25, were picked to finish third in the KCAC coaches poll and first in the media poll for the 2015 season.  They finished 8-3 in 2014, just missing the NAIA Playoffs.

This will be the first ever meeting in football between Nebraska Wesleyan and Friends.

Once again this season, all 10 Nebraska Wesleyan football games can be heard on KFOR 1240 AM & KFOR 103.3 FM or kfor1240.com with veteran play-by-play announcer Dick Janda returning for his seventh season as the voice of the Prairie Wolves.
