LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Nebraska Wesleyan football team returns to Abel Stadium on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 7) to host Northwestern College in Great Plains Athletic Conference action. Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Red Raiders is set for 1 pm.
NWU enters Saturday's contest with a 3-5 overall record and 2-5 mark in the GPAC. Northwestern, ranked #22 in the NAIA Top 25, is 5-3 overall and 4-3 in GPAC play.
The Prairie Wolves will be facing their fifth nationally-ranked opponent of the season on Saturday. NWU is aiming to defeat the Red Raiders in Lincoln for the first time since 1999. Northwestern has won 13 of the past 14 games in the all-time series, including eight in a row in Lincoln. Of the eight games, seven of them have been decided by eight points or less.
Northwestern brings one of the top defenses in the country to Lincoln. The Red Raiders have not allowed over 28 points in a game this season, and rank in the top 10 in the nation in seven different defensive categories. Northwestern needs to win their final two games of the season to have any chance of keeping their streak of NAIA Playoff appearances alive.
Fans not attending the game can watch the game live via webcast from the NWU Sports Network or listen live on KFOR 1240AM/103.3 FM or online at kfornow.com
