LINCOLN, Neb. -- Doane College scored three second half goals as the Tigers defeated Nebraska Wesleyan 3-0 in the last women's soccer meeting between the two old rivals as conference members on Tuesday night at Abel Stadium.
With the loss, NWU has lost four straight GPAC games to fall back in the league standings. The Prairie Wolves are now sixth in the GPAC at 8-8 overall and 5-5 in conference play with one regular season match remaining.
Neither team scored in the first half of Tuesday's match as the score was tied 0-0 at intermission.
Doane wasted little time in the second half as Megan Voight scored within eight minutes of the second half. Just over two minutes later, a penalty kick was converted by Sara Cushing for her 10th goal on the season.
The Tigers then chipped in another goal in the 72nd minute as Kylee Horton scored her 10th goal on the season for an insurance goal.
NWU finished with just six shots on the day, compared to 12 for Doane.
