SEWARD, Neb. --
Hallie Schimenti scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Concordia University on Wednesday at Bulldog Stadium in Seward.
With the victory, NWU extends their winning streak to five straight GPAC wins to improve to 5-1 in conference play and 8-4 overall. The Prairie Wolves have shutout all five opponents during the winning streak as they remain in second place in the league standings.
Both teams played even soccer for the first 90 minutes of the match with neither team able to get on the scoreboard. NWU had only six shots in regulation with Concordia taking 11. The Bulldogs took one shot attempt in overtime, before Schimenti sealed the victory for the Prairie Wolves with the game-winner.
Madi Francis recorded her seventh shutout on the year and fifth straight by making four saves on the day.
NWU looks to continue their winning streak on Saturday night when they host Morningside College at 5:00 pm at Abel Stadium.
