Nebraska Wesleyan will kick off their 2014 football season this Saturday (Sept. 6) when they travel to Hillsboro, Kan., to face Tabor College.  Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Bluejays is set for 2:00 pm at Joel Wiens Stadium.

NWU is coming off a 2013 season where they finished 6-4 overall and fourth in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.  The Prairie Wolves return six starters on offense and five on defense from that 2013 team.  NWU was picked to finish 6th in the GPAC Coaches' Preseason Poll that was released in early August.

Tabor College, ranked 8th in the NAIA Preseason Top 25, had a historic season in 2013 as they went 10-3 overall and advanced to the final eight in the NAIA Playoffs recording just the second postseason win in school history.  The Bluejays were picked to finish second in the KCAC in 2014.

The Prairie Wolves will face teams that made the 2013 NAIA Playoffs in three of the first four games of the season as three of the Prairie Wolves first four opponents are ranked in the NAIA Preseason Top 15.
