Gothenburg High School three sport standout
Regan Geiken has announced that she plans to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University and participate in volleyball in the fall of 2014.
Geiken, a 5'11 senior at Gothenburg H.S., was a two-time Class C-1 All-State honorable mention selection in volleyball for the Swedes. She was a four-year starter earning Southwest Conference honors for three seasons. Geiken was also selected for the East West All-Star Game.
Geiken was key to Gothenburg posting its best record in school history with a 27-5 mark. She was second on the team in attacks, serve receives, digs and blocks. Her name is on the Swede all-time top ten chart in nine spots.
She also excelled in basketball where she was a two-time All-State honorable mention selection. She was a three-time All-Conference recipient earning First-Team honors as a senior. Geiken was a four-year starter in basketball and was selected to play in the North Platte Area All-Star game. Geiken also was a standout in track where she has been a two-time state qualifier in the 400 meters. She has earned two medals at the state track meet in the 4x400 relay earning third and fourth place.
Geiken is the seventh player to announce that they will join the Prairie Wolves volleyball program and play for head coach
Rayna Cain in the 2014 season.
