Hastings, Neb. -- 16th-ranked Hastings College scored three second half goals to get past Nebraska Wesleyan, 4-1, in GPAC men's soccer action played on Wednesday night at the Lloyd Wilson Complex in Hastings, Neb.
Hastings College got on the board first as Shane Davidson as he was able to knock in a crossed ball in front of the goal.
Nebraska Wesleyan came back to tie the match in the 38th minute as
Chris Larsen scored a goal on an assist from
Phil Volk. It was the first time that the Prairie Wolves had scored a goal against the Broncos since the 2007 season as they had been shutout in six straight meetings between the two teams.
With their eyes set on an upset, Nebraska Wesleyan had their momentum taken away early as Julius Goedhart scored just over five minutes into the second half. The Broncos scoring didn't stop there as Hastings got goals in back-to-back minutes to pull ahead 4-1. Jake Ramsay scored in the 62nd minute, followed by a goal from Damien Austen who got the assist from Ramsey.
Hastings outshot the Prairie Wolves 17-3 as NWU was held without a shot attempt in the second half.
The Prairie Wolves will next be in action on Monday (Oct. 13) when they host Coe College in a nonconference match.
