Warriors Score Five Goals in Win Over Wolves

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Midland University scored four unanswered goals to break open a tie match as the Warriors went on to a 5-2 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan in GPAC men's soccer action Wednesday night (Oct. 29) at Abel Stadium.

With the match tied 1-1 midway through the second half, Midland added one more goal to lead 2-1 at intermission.  The Warriors then scored three straight goals within a four minute stretch to go up by four goals and they never looked back.

The scoring started with Jeremy De Hoog in the 12th minute to put Midland ahead early in the match.  NWU responded as Drew Miller got his seventh goal of the season at the 20:13 mark on an assist by Brady Blazek.

De Hoog scored his second goal of the match in the 34th minute to break the tie and send Midland into halftime with the lead.  De Hoog got the hat trick in the second half with his third consecutive goal in the 64th minute.  That started the stretch of three quick goals for Midland with the combination of Alan Craig and Andy Jones accounting for the next two goals.  Craig scored both goals on assists from Jones and before NWU could blink they were down 5-1.

Brady Blazek added one last goal for the Prairie Wolves with 12 minutes remaining in the match to make the final score 5-2.

Nebraska Wesleyan closes out the 2014 regular season on Saturday when they host Dordt College on Senior Day.
