LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska Wesleyan and Concordia each scored goals within the first six minutes of the second half but those were the only goals of the match as the Prairie Wolves and Bulldogs tied 1-1 in GPAC women's soccer on Wednesday night (Oct. 15) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln, Neb.
Nebraska Wesleyan has their record go to 7-4-2, 3-2-1 in GPAC, while Concordia is now 9-2-2 and 3-0-2 in the league.
Neither team was able to score in the first 45 minutes of the match as the teams were tied 0-0 at intermission. NWU had six shots in the first half, compared to three for the Bulldogs.
Concordia struck first in the second period as Emmalynn Rodriguez scored just over one minute into the period. She shot from 10 yards out and got the ball in the top left corner of the goal.
NWU answered in the 51st minute as Lindsey Harpenau went into the bunch in front of the net and was able to put the ball into the goal to notch the match at 1-1.
The Prairie Wolves had several chances to take the lead later in the half, but came up empty. The Prairie Wolves had seven shots in the second period, compared to only two for the Bulldogs. In the overtime periods Nebraska Wesleyan was the only team to attempt a shot as neither team was able to muster any offense ending the match in a draw.
