Box Score Nebraska Wesleyan did not back down from undefeated and 5th-ranked Midland University on Tuesday night (Sept. 24) as the Prairie Wolves even took a set from the Warriors in a 3-1 loss in GPAC volleyball action in Fremont, Neb.
Midland improved to 20-0 overall by winning in scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22. NWU falls to 10-2 overall and 2-2 in the GPAC.
The Prairie Wolves hung right with the No. 5 team in the NAIA, trading points back and forth in all four sets. Anytime Midland would try to pull away, NWU went on a run of their own.
In set two, NWU trailed 18-14 but reeled off six straight points to take a 20-14 lead. The set then was tied at 22-22, but a Warrior error gave NWU the advantage. Kills by

Katelyn Walsh gave the Prairie Wolves the set win to tie the match at 1-1.
Set three, NWU also made a run as they outscored Midland 8-2 to tie the set at 18-18. Midland then took advantage of of three attack errors and a service error from the Prairie Wolves to win the set.
NWU led 11-9 in the fourth set, but would not lead again after Midland tied the set at 15-15. The Warriors closed out the match with a kill for the 25-22 win.
Nebraska Wesleyan was led by
Katelyn Walsh with 13 kills.
Makayla Westphal had 13 digs, while
Alex Springman handed out 18 assists.
Midland was led by MacKezie Scheef with 18 kills, while Ashley Wheeler added 17.
NWU has two home matches this weekend hosting #20 Dordt on Friday and Briar Cliff on Saturday afternoon.
