Prairie Wolves Open Season 4-0 at Grinnell Tournament

Box Score Nebraska Wesleyan got its 2013 volleyball season off to a good start as the Prairie Wolves went 4-0 at the Grinnell Tournament in Grinnell, Iowa over the weekend (Aug. 30-31).On Friday, NWU defeated Minnesota-Morris, 3-1, rallying from a first set loss. The Prairie Wolves won in scores of 23-25, 25-12, 25-13, 25-20. Katelyn Walsh led the way with 16 kills, while Mallory Dahl added 15 kills.In the second match of the night, the Prairie Wolves took a four set decision from Hamline. NWU had to rally back after dropping set one in that match as well winning 23-25, 25-22, 29-27, 25-11. Dahl had 15 kills, while newcomer Alyssa Stanek had 10 kills and seven blocks.On the final day of the tournament, NWU swept a pair of three set matches. The Prairie Wolves defeated Greenville, 25-11, 25-18, 25-17, then made real quick work of the host school Grinnell routing the Pioneers 25-8, 25-18, 25-9.

Senior Mackenzie Hite was named to the All-Tournament team.
