Nebraska Wesleyan shot 55.6 percent from the field as they got back to .500 in the conference with an impressive 83-57 victory over Concordia University in GPAC men's basketball action on Wednesday night (Dec. 11) in Seward, Neb.
NWU led by 19 points at halftime, but Concordia came back to cut the lead to 10 points midway through the second half. NWU then went on a big run and pulled away to earn the 26 point victory.
The Prairie Wolves improve to 6-2 overall and 2-2 in the GPAC while Concordia falls to 3-8, 1-5 GPAC.
Trevor Johnson had another big game for the Prairie Wolves with a game-high 24 points.Â
Eric Jackson chipped in 20 points for his best scoring game of the season.
Johnson was 8-11 from the floor and scored 24 hitting 8-16 at the free throw line. He also had a team-high eight rebounds and six assists. Jackson was 4-6 from 3-point range and 2-2 at the stripe.
NWU shot 58.3 percent from the floor in the second half while Concordia improved from 32 percent in the first half to 40 percent in the second half.
Chandler Folkerts led Concordia with 23 points, with leading scorer Adam Vogt adding 14 points all in the second half.
