Men's Soccer Falls 4-0 in GPAC Finale

Box Score Dordt College scored three first half goals and held Nebraska Wesleyan scoreless as the Prairie Wolves lost 4-0 to the Defenders in the GPAC men's soccer season finale on Saturday (Nov. 2) in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Dordt scored in the 9th minute of the match on a goal by Cody Van Holland and that would end up being the game-winner as the Prairie Wolves were held without a goal for the ninth time in 2013.

Eric Grootenboer and Steven Talsma each scored goals in the first period for the Defenders as Dordt built up a 3-0 lead at halftime.  Brady Van Holland added another goal in the second half to give Dordt the 4-0 win.

NWU attempted just five shots in the match, compared to 16 for the Defenders.

Nebraska Wesleyan finished the 2013 regular season with a 4-13-1 overall mark and a 2-8 record in the GPAC to place in a tie for ninth in the conference standings.

The Prairie Wolves will have one more match on the season as they play Illinois Institute of Technology in the Provisional Independent Tournament next Saturday in Chicago.
