NWU & Hastings Meet for 100th Time on Senior Day

(Complete Game Notes)

Nebraska Wesleyan closes out the 2013 season this Saturday (Nov. 16) when they host Hastings College in the 100th all-time meeting between the long-time football rivals.  Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Broncos is set for 1 pm at Abel Stadium in Lincoln.

It is Senior Day for the Prairie Wolves as 19 senior football players will be honored before kickoff.

NWU (5-4, 5-3 GPAC) wants to go out on top with a victory giving them back-to-back winning seasons of 6-4 records.  The Prairie Wolves had an impressive 37-7 victory over Midland University last Saturday in a total team effort on both sides of the ball.

Offensively, the Prairie Wolves had over 500 yards of total offense for the first time since 2007, while the NWU defense held Midland to just seven points and picked off three passes.

This week's game with Hastings figures to be another hard fought battle as the last five meetings between the old rivals has been decided by seven points or less.

Hastings snapped their 7-game losing streak last week and got their first GPAC win of the season with a 66-21 blowout over Dordt College.  The Broncos hadn't won a game since their opener in week one over Kansas Wesleyan.
