Saturday Night Showdown at Abel Stadium

(Complete Game Notes)

Long time conference foes Nebraska Wesleyan and Doane are set to renew their standing rivalry on the gridiron this Saturday night (Oct. 5) in Lincoln.  Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Tigers is set for 7 pm at Abel Stadium.

NWU (2-2, 2-1 GPAC) has won two straight games on the year, including last Saturday's 22-8 upset win at #17 Northwestern College to snap their 13-game losing streak to the Red Raiders.

Doane (3-1, 3-0 GPAC) is ranked No. 13 in this week's NAIA poll and is one of three conference teams that is undefeated in league play.  The Tigers have outscored their last two opponents 104-7 to climb up the poll.

Saturday night will be the 99th meeting in the all-time series between Nebraska Wesleyan and Doane in football.  Doane has won the last two games in the series to now hold a slight two game advantage, 47-45-6, in the historic series.

Fans not attending Saturday's game can watch the game live video webcast on the NWU Sports Network, or listen live on KFOR 1240 AM.  Live statistics through SIDEARM sports are also available.
