Jeff Christy enters his second season as the head coach of the Nebraska Wesleyan baseball program in 2025. Christy is the twelfth head coach in the program's history and brings with him a wealth of experience in collegiate and professional baseball. In his first season Jeff Christy coached the black and gold to a winning season and the A-R-C Conference championship game.
Before joining Nebraska Wesleyan, Christy served as an assistant coach at the University of Nebraska from 2019 to 2023, where he oversaw pitching and catching, contributed to recruiting efforts, and helped develop players who went on to have successful professional careers, including reaching the MLB.
Christy's coaching career also includes stints as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Texas A&M University and as an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Central Oklahoma. He also managed the Derby Twins, a collegiate summer league team, and spent time as a professional baseball player in the Minnesota Twins organization.
As Nebraska Wesleyan's baseball coach, Christy is dedicated to developing players on and off the field. "It is a passion of mine to develop baseball players on and off the field and help these young men grow to be the individuals they aspire to be," Christy says. "We will play hard, work to develop a multidimensional team in all facets of the game, and be great teammates. Combine these elements with the great education provided at Nebraska Wesleyan, and I believe we can build a successful program."
Christy will be leading the team into a new era as Nebraska Wesleyan's baseball program transitions to a state-of-the-art stadium at the Sandhills Global Youth Complex in the spring of 2025. The facility will feature a full turf field and provide an enhanced experience for both players and fans.
Christy is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska, and is excited to bring his experience and passion for the game back to his home state.
