Grant Johannes


Grant Johannes will serve as the interim head soccer coach at Nebraska Wesleyan University for the 2014 season.  Johannes will be the head coach for both the men's and women's soccer programs.

The former NWU soccer standout has spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach under Sean Steele.  While serving as an assistant, Johannes has been instrumental in practice planning, recruiting and preseason training programs.
 
Johannes, a native of Manhattan, Kan., was a three-year letterwinner in soccer for the Prairie Wolves from 2009-11.  He was a two-time honorable mention All-GPAC selection.  As a senior he was a team captain and started 17 games at defender.  He finished his career with five goals and seven assists in 51 career matches.
 
Johannes graduated in May 2012 from Nebraska Wesleyan with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science.  He is currently pursuing a master’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
