LeighAnn Novotny, a former pitcher for the Nebraska Wesleyan softball team, is in her first season as an assistant coach at her alma mater. She assists with the Prairie Wolves pitching staff.
Novotny was a four-year letterwinner as a pitcher for the Prairie Wolves from 2015-18. She appeared in 75 games on the mound to rank 6th on the NWU all-time charts. Novotny finished her career with 18 victories. In high school, Novotny played with Cass County Central Crush where she still holds the season batting average of .578.
In 2019, Novotny was an assistant softball coach at Southeast Community College. She begins her fourth season as head coach with Prodigy Easton Nebraska/Nebraska Elite in youth softball. She also gives pitching lessons at Driven Academy in Lincoln.
A 2018 graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan, Novotny earned her degree in mathematics. She is currently an application developer with Mutual of Omaha.
