Jose Luis Hernandez enters his first season with the Prairie Wolves in 2026-27 after spending the previous three seasons at Southeast Community College. Hernandez served as the Storm's head coach in 2025-26 after two seasons as an assistant coach from 2023-25.

During his time at Southeast Community College, Hernandez helped more than 35 student-athletes advance to four-year colleges. He was also part of one of the youngest collegiate coaching staffs in the country for three consecutive seasons.

Hernandez has extensive experience at the club level. He served as Academy Director for Lincoln City FC in 2025-26 and 402 Development Academy from 2024-25. He previously served as Groguets Director for Villarreal Nebraska Academy from 2022-24, helping the club capture the Nebraska State Cup Championship in 2024.

A native of Humble, Texas, Hernandez moved to Lincoln in 2021. He began his playing career with Texans Soccer Club before joining the Houston Dynamo Academy system. He continued his playing career at York University, where he made 11 starts as a freshman.
