David Clouse

David Clouse is in his first season as head men's golf coach at Nebraska Wesleyan.  He was named the head golf coach in July 2014.

A member of the Nebraska Wesleyan Hall of Fame, Clouse was a standout golfer during his two seasons at Nebraska Wesleyan in 1982-83.  As a senior, Clouse shot a tournament record 66 en route to winning the NIAC Championship and then followed that up with an 11th place finish at the NAIA National Tournament.  After the season he was named NAIA All-America and an All-America Scholar Athlete.
 
At NWU, he was a two-year captain of the All-Conference team and finished in the top 10 individually at eight of the nine tournaments in which he competed as a senior, racking up a stroke average of 75.1.  As a junior he finished fourth out of 130 entrants at the Drake Relays Golf Festival and had the best score of any NCAA Division III Golfer. 
 
Clouse is a member of the Nebraska Golf Association's Hall of Fame selected in 2008 and was the Nebraska Golf Association's Player-of-the-Year four times.  He has competed in nine USGA National Championships and was the State Amateur Champion in 1992.

In July 2014, Clouse won the 2014 Nebraska Amateur Golf Championship becoming the oldest Nebraska Amateur Champion.  His final round score of 66 (-6) was the lowest final round score in the 106 year history of the tournament. He also won the State Amateur title in 1999. 

A native of Friend, Neb., he has spent the past two seasons as the Head High School Boys Golf Coach at Friend High School.
