Biography
2012-13: Started 24 of 25 games for the Prairie Wolves as a junior … named honorable mention All-GPAC … was voted 2nd-Team All-Independent and honorable mention All-Nebraska … earned MVP honors at the Snyder Classic … had 19 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in the OT win over Simpson to open the Snyder Classic … added 11 points on 4-5 shooting in win over Austin … tied his career-high with 19 points at #6 Northwestern on Dec. 1 … led the team in blocked shots with 26 to rank sixth in the GPAC and the sixth highest single season total at NWU … dished out 53 assists from the post to rank second on the team … reached double figures in scoring 11 times … a NAIA Scholar Athlete and Pflieger-Olson award winner.
2011-12: Played in all 26 games and worked his way into the starting lineup for the final 15 games of the season … became a solid presence in the paint for the Prairie Wolves … was an outstanding passer with 53 assists and just 18 turnovers … led the GPAC in assist/turnover ratio at 2.94 … scored in double figures in two games with 10 points against Morningside and Dordt … had nine rebounds in two different games for a new career high … in four different games was perfect from the floor in field goals … a Pflieger-Olson Scholar Athlete.
2010-11: Came off the bench to appear in 10 games as a freshman … earned his first varsity letter … averaged 7.5 minutes per game … best performance came against Trinity on Dec. 29 … scored eight points with seven rebounds … played in each of the final four games of the year … was 11-20 from the floor on the season.
Academic: Computer Science major.
In High School: Earned four letters and was a three-year starter in basketball at Bedford High School … was named First-Team All-State as a senior … also named All-Western Iowa by the Omaha World Herald … averaged 13 points and 11 rebounds … holds the Bedford school record for career & season blocks and assists … a three-time Academic All-Conference selection … also lettered four years in baseball earning All-State honors.
Personal: Born 2/6/92, son of Mike and Chris Schweitzer … older brother Andy was a four-year member of the NWU basketball team from 2008-12.
