Steve Schneider enters his 40th year of coaching football and first season at Nebraska Wesleyan University. He served as head football coach/athletic director at Midland Lutheran College and Peru State College. Retiring from Peru State in 2020.
During his time at Midland he coached on two NAIA national play-off teams and produced 12 NAIA All-Americans and numerous all conference and scholar athletes. While at Peru State he mentored two A.O. Duer Award winners, the highest NAIA award a student athlete can receive.
He also had coaching stops at Dakota Wesleyan University, Graceland University and most recently at Omaha Burke High School.
A Fremont, Neb. native, Schneider earned his bachelor of arts degree from Midland Lutheran College majoring in Teacher Education. Schneider earned a master of arts degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) with an emphasis in Exercise Science.
