    Defensive Backs Coach

            Steve Heimann returns for his second stint as an assistant coach for Nebraska Wesleyan this season.  He coached at NWU for four seasons from 2007-10, and now returns in 2013 to serve as a defensive backs coach.
            Heimann had previous coaching stops at Nebraska-Omaha in 2006 as a student assistant and also was the secondary coach for the Nebraska B.E.A.R.S. Indoor Professional Football Team.
            He played football at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan., from 1991-92 where he was a defensive back for the Saints leading them to the 1991 KCAC championship.  He then transferred to UNO where he played cornerback and free safety.  He graduated from Bellevue University in 2001 with a management degree and earned a Master’s degree in Leadership from Bellevue in 2010.
            The Omaha Roncalli graduate lives in Springfield with his wife Rochelle.  They have three children, Aiden, Alex and Cohwen.
