Mike Johnson begins his fourth season as an assistant football coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. Johnson serve as the defensive line coach for the Prairie Wolves defense.
Last season he coached Tyler Sorensen to earn 2nd-Team All-IIAC recognition, the second straight year he has had a player earn All-Conference along the defensive line.
Johnson came to NWU from Waverly High School where he has served as the head coach for the past 15 seasons. He has 36 years of high school coaching experience with stops at Waverly (15 years), Goodland, Kansas (12 year), Giltner (4 years) and Grant (4 years).
Johnson and his wife Rochelle have one daughter Danielle.
