Former Nebraska Wesleyan football player James Skerjanec begins his second season as an assistant football coach for the Prairie Wolves in 2019. Skerjanec serves as the quarterbacks coach.
In his first season, Skerjanec coached Jonathan Curti to 1st-Team All-Conference honors as he became the school’s all-time leading passer.
Skerjanec completed his playing career in 2018 when he served as offensive team captain. He was second on the team with 43 receptions as a starting wide receiver, including the game-winning touchdown in the final game of the year. A two-year letterwinner at receiver, Skerjanec finished his career with 73 career receptions.
He was named to the 2019 NFF Hampshire Honor Society. Skerjanec earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from NWU in May 2019.
