Dave Watenpaugh is in his fourth season of his second stint as an assistant coach for the Nebraska Wesleyan football team. Watenpaugh coaches the tight ends in the Prairie Wolves offense.
In each of his three seasons, Watenpaugh has coached a tight end to All-Conference honors. Last year he had a player earn 1st-Team All-Conference.
He coached at NWU for nine seasons from 1997-2005, working with the wide receivers.
Watenpaugh was a four-year starter and letterwinner at tight end at the University of Nebraska-Kearney from 1990-95. He graduated from UNK with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
Dave and his wife, Staci, have a son, Garrett, and a daughter, Mackenzie.
