Dave Watenpaugh is in his third season of his second stint as an assistant coach for the Nebraska Wesleyan football team. Watenpaugh coaches the tight ends in the Prairie Wolves offense.
In his first season in 2017, Watenpaugh had a tight end earn All-Conference recognition. He also helped coach an All-Conference tight end in 2018.
He coached at NWU for nine seasons from 1997-2005, working with the wide receivers.
Watenpaugh was a four-year starter and letterwinner at tight end at the University of Nebraska-Kearney from 1990-95. He graduated from UNK with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
Dave and his wife, Staci, have a son, Garrett, and a daughter, Mackenzie.
