Dave Watenpaugh is in his seventh season of his second stint as an assistant coach for the Nebraska Wesleyan football team. Watenpaugh coaches the tight ends, and returners in the Prairie Wolves offense.
In four of his last five seasons, Watenpaugh has coached a tight end to All-Conference honors.
He coached at NWU for nine seasons from 1997-2005, working with the wide receivers.
Watenpaugh was a four-year starter and letter winner at tight end at the University of Nebraska-Kearney from 1990-95. He graduated from UNK with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
Dave and his wife, Staci, have a son, Garrett, who is a former member of the football team, and a daughter, Mackenzie who is a current member of the Nebraska Wesleyan Women's basketball team.
