Chris Shipley

Chris Shipley enters his 10th year as an assistant coach at NWU and will again be working with the Prairie Wolves defensive line.  Shipley came to NWU after spending two seasons working with linebackers on the Doane College staff. Shipley has also worked as a visiting assistant for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s summer football camps.
           
In 2013, Shipley coached NWU defensive lineman Phil Latimer to AFCA All-America recognition.
           
Shipley graduated from David City Aquinas High School and attended Doane, where he helped the Tigers to an overall record of 11-1 and a trip to the NAIA semifinals as a junior. In 1998, he earned All-Conference Honorable Mention as a senior on the defensive line.
           
After earning his degree in Mass Communication from Doane in 1999, Shipley served as a sergeant in the United States Army for four years. He received a master’s degree in Human Resources from Central Michigan University in 2003. He now works in Company Fleets at Crete Carrier. Shipley and his wife, Danielle, reside in Lincoln and have a son, Cal and daughter Anna.
