2018: Became the team’s closer out of the bullpen … led the team making 13 appearances … had a team-high 2 saves … also led the team with a  4.12 ERA … pitched 19 2/3 innings out of the bullpen … in his first appearance of the year pitched 1 scoreless inning to record a save … struck out two of three batters in one inning to get the save in 11-10 win over Buena Vista … threw a season-high 3 2/3 innings on the road at Simpson striking out two allowing one earned run … did not allow a run in eight of 13 appearances … named to IIAC All-Academic team.

2017: Picked up his second letter in his sophomore season … was used once again as a relief pitcher for the Prairie Wolves … appeared in four games out of the bullpen … pitched a total of 2 1/3 innings and did not have a decision … versus Wartburg pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball … named to IIAC All-Academic team.

2016: Earned his first varsity letter as a relief pitcher for the Prairie Wolves … appeared in seven games out of the bullpen … had four outings without allowing a run … pitched a total of 8 1/3 innings on the year … longest outing came against Hastings on April 22 pitching 2.0 innings allowing just one hit and no runs.

Academic: Communication and Sport Management major.  

In High School: A three-sport athlete in high school … four-year starter on Malcolm Legion baseball team that won two state championships and four district titles … led state title team in wins (8) and ERA (1.07) … high school did not offer baseball … three-year letterwinner in football … 1^st-Team All-State defensive back for the Clippers … two-time 1^st-Team All-District and All-Conference … led team in receptions and receiving yards … two-year letterwinner in basketball … team captain … All-State honorable mention in basketball … participated in FCA and FBLA.

Personal: Born 3/20/97, son of Jake McHugh and Shelley McHugh … father Jake played football at NWU.
