Mitch Lawson starts off his first year at Nebraska Wesleyan as the assistant baseball coach in 2026.
Laurie brings Division II coaching experience, and comes to Lincoln following time on staff at Southwest Minnesota State University. At SMSU, he held the role of assistant coach. Lawson assisted in running and organizing practices, and was heavily involved in recruiting.
Prior to his time as a Mustang, Lawson served as an assistant coach at Upper Iowa, where he earned his Master of Sports Administration in 2023.
Lawson earned bachelor degrees in Kinesiology and Exercise Science as well as Finance from Cornell College in 2021. He played on the baseball team for four years,Â
