2020 Greeno/Dirksen Information

Hosts: The Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational is co-hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University and The University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  The meet is named after long time coaches Woody Greeno (Nebraska Wesleyan University) and Jay Dirksen (University of Nebraska)

Course: Mahoney Park Golf Course - 7900 Adams St, Lincoln, NE 68507
2020 will be the third year on this course.  The Big 10 Cross Country Championship was held on the course in 2018.  The course received rave reviews from runners and coaches.  With excellent footing, long straightaways and rolling terrain the course provides an excellent venue for great cross country racing.

Starting Times: Women - 10:00 AM (5000 Meters) 
                           Men - 10:45 AM (8000 Meters)

Parking:  Team parking will be in the Mahoney Golf Course clubhouse lot at 76th & Adams.  Spectator parking will be in Mahoney Park.  Entrance to the park is at 70th & Fremont Street.

Spectator Admission: Admission to the meet will be $5 for spectators.   Admission for Nebraska Wesleyan University and University of Nebraska-Lincoln students is free with a student I.D.

Entry Procedure: Entries will be done on line at http://www.directathletics.com.
Unattached entries are allowed. You can get your username, password, and instructions for online entry at www.directathletics.com.

Entry Dead Line: All entries are due by Wednesday, September 16th @ 9 AM.

Timing: Chip timing will be provided by Heartland Timing.  
 
Entry Fee: $225 per team.  ($450 for both men & women)  Make checks payable to Nebraska Wesleyan University.  $25 for unattached runners. Entry fee can be paid at the time of packet pick up or mailed to the address below.

Packet Pickup: Packets can be picked up at the course after 8:00 AM the morning of the meet.
All coaches will be required to report scratches to meet management tent located at the trailer near the finish line 10 minutes before the start of that genders race. Any athlete not scratched who did not start or finish the race will be listed in the results as a DNF. This is a new policy approved by all three NCAA divisional cross country / track and field committees in June 2019. Any athlete scratched and did not start will not be listed in the meet results.


Numbers: All runners must wear their assigned number on the front of their uniforms.

Team Scoring: NCAA rules in effect.  No top 7 designation.   The meet will be scored in two divisions, University division (NCAA I) and College division (NCAA II, NCAA III, NAIA, JUCO)

Awards: Trophies will be awarded to the top finishing College team (NCAA II, NCAA III, NAIA and JUCO) and to the top finishing University team (NCAA I).  T-shirts will be awarded to the top 35 overall men and women.

Results: Results will be available ASAP @ the trailer near the finish line.  You can also access results at huskers.com or nwusports.com

Course Inspection:   Course will be available on Friday, September 18th after 5:00 pm.
 
Showers: Showers will be available at the Weary Center on the Nebraska Wesleyan campus @ 53rd and Huntington (just 2 miles from the course).  Enter the building on the west side.
 
Trainers: Nebraska Wesleyan and University of Nebraska athletic trainers will be available if needed.  They will be located behind the starting line area.
