BASKETBALL - BOYS

2026 Basketball Camps

* Day Camp 1

  • Date: June 15-17 (9:00am-3:30pm)
  • Grades: 1-8
  • Camp Emphasis: These camps emphasize the fundamentals of the game. Basic concepts of team play and strategy will also be stressed. Camp activities include demonstrations by NWU staff and guest lecturers, personal instruction on individual technique/ fundamentals, games, contests and tournaments. Camps will be held at Snyder Arena and Knight Fieldhouse (located on Wesleyan’s campus).

  • Date: July 13-15 (9:00am-3:30pm)
  • Grades: 1-8

  • Ages: 8-18
  • Camp Emphasis: Improve your basketball skills and knowledge during summer 2026 in Lincoln, Nebraska! Train with two-time National Coach of the Year and NWU Head Men's Coach Dale Wellman, his staff, and players for an exciting week of collegiate-style training in a fun and encouraging environment for players from beginner to advanced.

Junior Prairie Wolves Camp 

Grades: 3 - 8

Camp Emphasis: NWU student-athletes and coaches create a fun-filled environment to help improve players of all skill levels. This camp allows every player to spend quality time on the ball through drills, small-sided activities, games and other competitions to improve technical ability, tactical awareness and overall comfort and ease on the field. Off the field, campers will enjoy lunch in the dining hall, campus footgolf and soccer tennis games and some swimming pool time to cool off and beat the heat.

Dates:  June 1-4

Times: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Meals: You may bring own lunch or eat in our dining hall (fee covers lunch)

Cost: $260 (includes T-Shirt). Save $20 if registered by March 1.

SOCCER - GIRLS

College ID Camp

Grades: 9-12 and college transfers

Camp Emphasis: This camp gives prospects the chance to experience training in a college environment, as well as gaining a better understanding of the college recruiting process. Join our staff to help improve your technical and tactical understanding of the game in a competitive and personal environment!

Dates: June 13 and 14, 2026

Throwing Clinics

Camp Emphasis: The clinic will provide a thorough technical breakdown of the throwing event, with the skills and drills to help them progress into their track season. Professional coaching with video analysis will be provided during the session.
Dates: Shot Put Clinic: March 1st, 2026 (attendees will choose either the glide session or the rotational session.)
                - Glide Technique: 10 AM - 12 PM
                - Rotational Technique: 1 PM - 3 PM

Midwest Night of Stars Meet

Dates: May 30, 2026

Summer Speed Series
Objective:
 The Summer Speed Series is an 8 week, once a week, athletic development program designed specifically for middle school athletes of all sports. Each 45–60 minute session consists of the following:

  • 8–12 min dynamic warm-up
  • 12–15 min acceleration & mechanics
  • 12–15 min max velocity work
  • 10–12 min plyos / med-ball / basic strength
  • 5 min Cool down and debrief 

Athletes will build speed, confidence, and movement skills while learning how to train the right way in a fun and safe environment. Sessions are held every Wednesday afternoon with grade-specific time slots, capped at 10–15 athletes to ensure quality coaching. The cost is $25 per session (total of $200 for all 8 sessions), led by Derrick McKenzie who is the Director of XC / Track & Field at Nebraska Wesleyan.

8 Session Importance: Athletes will see the greatest improvement by attending all 8 sessions. Each week builds progressively on the previous one. Speed development is cumulative!

Eligibility: Any athlete of any sport entering the grades 6-8.

Cost: $25 per session

Location: Nebraska Wesleyan Athletic Facilities – Knight Field House / Abel Stadium (53rd & Huntington)

Refund Policy: Due to limited space and small group sizes, all registrations are final and no refunds will be issued.
