FRANKSTON, Texas — Jaiden Ronke arrived at Pine Dunes Resort and did something remarkably difficult over 54 holes, he was steady when steadiness was hard to come by.
Ronke's three-round total of 221 (+5) led the Nebraska Wesleyan University men's golf team at the Goliath Compression Invitational, hosted by LeTourneau University at Pine Dunes Resort in Frankston, Texas. The Prairie Wolves finished fifth in the nine-team field with a team total of 908 (+44), posting rounds of 300, 301 and 307 across the two-day, 54-hole event that concluded Tuesday.
LeTourneau captured the team title on its home course with an impressive 860 (-4), with the Yellowjackets' Kaiden Schneider earning medalist honors at four-under par. Owen Prewitt finished second at two-over for LeTourneau, as the hosts dominated the individual leaderboard's top three spots.
Ronke's performance was the clear highlight for Nebraska Wesleyan. He never eclipsed 78 strokes in any single round, opening with a one-under 71 before posting a 78 and closing with a 72 on Tuesday. His final round featured three birdies and 13 pars, a composed effort from start to finish. Ronke totaled eight birdies across the tournament and tied for eighth on the individual leaderboard.
Jackson Lapour provided another steady presence, finishing tied for 17th at 226. His 71 in the second round was among the best individual rounds posted by a Prairie Wolf all tournament, and his ten birdies across three rounds shoed his genuine offensive capability on a demanding layout.
Brayden Schram finished at 229, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole during Monday's opening 18. Travis Tilford carded a 233 with seven birdies throughout the event, while Jacob Cosimano posted a 237. Harrison Weddell rounded out the Prairie Wolves' lineup at 250.
