PELLA, Iowa– Despite Prairie Wolf keeper
Amber Pyle's two-save effort, Nebraska Wesleyan fell in the A-R-C Conference opener to Central by a 2-1 final score on Wednesday afternoon at A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex Soccer Field.
Central defended its turf out of the gate and owned the possession game early. The Dutch converted an opportunity and found the back of the net in the 12th minute.
The Dutch would later execute on a well struck ballto take a 2-0 advantage after the 35th minute.
Avah Berlin delivered a corner kick in the 45th minute that was tapped towards the net from inside the box by
Alexa Pine, and was mishandled by the Dutch goalkeeper for the goal. It was Pine's first goal of her young Prairie Wolf career. The 2-1 Dutch lead would remain true into halftime.
Central placed four shots on frame with the pair of goals.
